“To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), DFAT supported the Diplomacy Training Program and the Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP), deliver regional capacity-building in Chiang Mai, Thailand (21-25 June 2017).
Twenty-four indigenous advocates from eight countries in the region attended the training which was designed to help community activists understand how they could contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda in their local communities. The workshop reaffirmed the right of indigenous peoples to participate in their own development, and celebrated the 10th anniversary of UNDRIP.”
