ABOUT EVENT

Midway through the implementation of SDG7, Indigenous Peoples are still among those who have no access to energy as most are located in remote location that is not accessible to electric grid lines. This side event aims to showcase initiatives led by Indigenous Peoples to advance the SDG7 implementation particularly on access to appropriate and reliable energy for remote Indigenous communities. This event will also highlight rights based partnerships between Indigenous Peoples and UN agencies (IFAD and UNDP SGP) for Indigenous-led renewable energy initiatives.
