We don’t need a hydropower dam - a PhotoStory by the Bunong community of Kbal Romeas village

"In northeast Cambodia, the Bunong community of Kbal Romeas village lives a simple but happy life thanks to their rice fields, vegetable gardens, fishing river, and cattle. They also collect NTFPs in the forest all around, except in their highly respected spiritual, prohibited & burial forests.
However, the whole area they have sustainably managed & protected for generations is now under serious threat, by a hydropower dam project approved by the government, and which would flood their ICCA and displace them they have no idea where to. Of course, the companies who will make huge profits from selling this hydroelectricity have not conducted proper consultation with the affected communities.
These still have hope their voices can be heard, and the worst avoided... Please support them and do share their story widely!"
